The United Arab Emirates has officially launched the 54th edition of Eid Al Etihad – the annual celebration of the nation’s founding and unification – on Friday, July 18, 2025, marking the occasion of Union Pledge Day.
Also known as UAE National Day, Eid Al Etihad will be commemorated with grand celebrations across the country on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The launch event signals the beginning of a series of national activities and preparations leading up to the official holiday, which traditionally spans December 2 and 3. This year, however, the public holiday may begin as early as December 1, potentially giving residents a four- or even five-day weekend, depending on official announcements.
The central celebration of Eid Al Etihad will once again bring together the rulers of the emirates for a spectacular national event, with the 2025 venue to be announced soon. Last year’s ceremony, hosted at Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain, highlighted the UAE’s deep-rooted heritage, cultural values, and future aspirations. A similarly grand and meaningful celebration is expected this year at another landmark location.
In addition to the main celebration, Eid Al Etihad zones will be activated across the country, providing immersive experiences and cultural festivities for residents and visitors alike. Previous editions have included activations at Global Village, Festival Promenade, Hatta, The Outlet Village Mall, and Quranic Park.
An open invitation has been extended to all UAE residents to begin preparing for the national festivities. Speaking on the occasion, Eisa Alsubousi, Director of Strategic and Creative Affairs for Eid Al Etihad, emphasized the importance of Union Pledge Day as a launch platform.
“Union Pledge Day is more than a symbolic date. It signals a collective beginning of celebration and collaboration,” he said. “This year, we reaffirm our commitment to partnership and inclusion, co-creating a memorable experience for all.”
To mark the launch, a behind-the-scenes film capturing highlights from the 2024 Eid Al Etihad celebration has also been released, offering a glimpse into the scale and spirit of the nationwide festivities.
