The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, currently taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 28th April to 1st May, is witnessing participation from tourism boards and industry stakeholders from across the world. Among the participants, Goa Tourism is presenting its approach to diversify beyond conventional beach tourism by highlighting cultural, ecological, and community-based experiences.
The Goa Pavilion was inaugurated by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Government of India, along with Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai. They were joined by Goa’s Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte and officials from the Goa Tourism Development Corporation. The event marked the beginning of a series of meetings and interactions aimed at building new connections and showcasing Goa’s evolving tourism strategy.
Speaking at the venue, Rohan A. Khaunte noted that the post-pandemic shift in travel preferences has encouraged Goa to move towards a model that emphasises variety and depth in visitor experiences. He shared that the state is working to increase the average length of stay by promoting its hinterlands, monsoon season, heritage sites, and culinary offerings. He also highlighted the importance of regenerative tourism, which aims to involve and benefit local communities while maintaining cultural and environmental integrity.
Goa Tourism’s engagement at ATM Dubai 2025 also includes discussions around improving accessibility for Middle Eastern travellers through enhanced air connectivity. With both Dabolim and Mopa airports operating international flights, Goa is now more reachable from cities like Dubai. Digital outreach through influencer-led campaigns and social media content is also being expanded to better connect with regional audiences.
Representatives from Goa’s travel and hospitality sector are present at the event, participating in discussions with trade professionals and potential partners. The tourism department has emphasised that such platforms allow for direct dialogue and help communicate the state’s broader tourism offerings to a global market.
Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Shri Sanjay Sudhir, and Consul General Dr. Aman Puri expressed support for Goa’s focus on regenerative tourism and sustainable practices. They noted the relevance of these efforts in attracting a new segment of conscious travellers from the region.
