Buddha-Bar Hotel and Floating Residences Announced for Dubai’s World Islands, Opening 2027

The development marks renewed investment in The World Islands, positioning the project as part of the archipelago’s ongoing revival into a private island lifestyle destination.

A new hospitality and residential development led by the Buddha-Bar brand is planned for Dubai’s World Islands, with an opening scheduled for 2027. The project will introduce a hotel, branded residences, and floating homes designed to offer a waterfront lifestyle experience in a private island setting.

The development includes a Buddha-Bar Hotel featuring 162 rooms, a dedicated floor of branded residences, a spa, and dining venues inspired by Pacific Rim cuisine. The hotel will reflect the brand’s signature approach to music, design, and atmosphere, relocated to a coastal environment.

Alongside the hotel, the project will introduce a collection of floating residences spanning approximately 4,000 square feet over three levels. Each residence will accommodate up to eight guests and will include rooftop terraces with jacuzzis, sea-level lounges, and underwater bedrooms positioned to overlook surrounding marine life. The floating homes are intended to offer privacy and direct access to the surrounding seascape.

The development is part of the broader revitalization of The World Islands, which has seen renewed investment activity in recent years. Increased demand for private island properties and resort-style living has contributed to the resurgence of development across the archipelago.

Founded in Paris in 1996, Buddha-Bar has expanded globally with hotels, beach clubs, and lounges in major international destinations. The World Islands project represents the brand’s first island-based property in the Middle East.

Construction and development work are ongoing, with the project targeting completion and opening in 2027.
