Dubai marked a new milestone in drone technology and blockchain community engagement as $DOGS and Notcoin organised a 15-minute drone show during the Token2049 closing ceremony. Held at Madinat Jumeirah, the show featured 1,500 synchronised LED drones and set a Guinness World Record for the largest drone-formed image of a bone, representing the $DOGS token.
The drone display included visuals of TON (The Open Network), $DOGS, Notcoin, and the Token2049 logo, along with a tribute to Telegram for reaching 1 billion users. The sequence also featured popular phrases such as “Who let the DOGS out” and Notcoin’s “Probably Nothing,” as well as an image of “Spotty,” the $DOGS mascot inspired by a sketch from Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
$DOGS, a token on the TON blockchain, focuses on animal welfare and supports related initiatives worldwide through partnerships with organisations like Best Friends Animal Society. Notcoin, also based on TON, uses a play-to-earn model to engage users through casual gaming with crypto rewards. Both tokens are Telegram-native and aim to make blockchain technology more accessible to everyday users.
The event showed how digital assets and platforms like Telegram can be used to connect communities and highlight new forms of technology. With Telegram’s reach and TON’s infrastructure, more people can learn about and engage with crypto.
This is not the first collaboration between $DOGS and Notcoin. Earlier this year, they launched a Sticker Pack platform that allows users to collect and trade tokenised digital stickers, which may eventually evolve into NFTs.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov also acknowledged the event on X, commenting, “The sky over Dubai has never looked as good as it did today.”
The show closed Token2049 on a forward-looking note, reflecting the growing use of blockchain in everyday digital platforms and community events.
