Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) will host World Green Building Week from September 7 to 11, 2026, as part of the global #BuildItReady campaign. The 18th annual edition will bring together industry professionals, policymakers, innovators and students to discuss sustainability in the built environment.
The Dubai programme will include ‘Women in Sustainability: Building It Ready’, focusing on the role of women in sustainable project delivery across design, engineering and construction. It will also feature ‘Design for Practice: A Student Design Challenge’ at the American University in Dubai, where architecture students will work with industry experts on urban design challenges.
EmiratesGBC will also introduce the EmiratesGBC Energy and Water Benchmark, developed with independent partner Meyaar. The benchmark will provide performance reference data for hotels, malls, offices and schools across the UAE.
The programme will conclude with ‘Build with Less Carbon: The UAE Materials Transition’, a joint session with Expo City Dubai focused on embodied carbon and the adoption of low-carbon construction materials.
