Expo City Dubai to Host Hag Al Laila Festival This January as Part of Season of Wulfa

The Hag Al Laila Harvest Festival provides an opportunity for families and the community to engage with Emirati culture and heritage in a relaxed and educational environment

The Hag Al Laila Harvest Festival, part of the Season of Wulfa and organised by the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA), will take place at Expo City Dubai on Saturday, January 31, offering a day-long celebration of Emirati heritage. The festival will run from 4 PM to 10 PM and is open to families and the wider community.

The festival programme provides visitors with the opportunity to experience Emirati traditions through hands-on activities, local food, entertainment, and traditional games. Attendees can enjoy a camel parade, henna art, candy bags for children, and interactive Hag Al Laila workshops. In line with community-focused initiatives, the festival will also feature performances by students from Dubai schools and kiosks run by home-based entrepreneurs showcasing and selling their products throughout the day.

A key feature of the festival is the Rashid and Latifa Duathlon, a fun run-and-bike event for children aged two to thirteen. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets to take part. Other activities include Emirati-themed children’s races and games, a bouncy castle, meet-and-greet sessions with Rashid and Latifa, and traditional Emirati sweets, including Lugaimat and assorted candies.

The event is organised by the Dubai Community Development Authority in partnership with Rove Hotels, Dubai Calendar, and Platinumlist.
