The fifth edition of the International Neurology Conference for the Middle East, Africa, and Russia began in Dubai, held in collaboration with AbbVie, the global biopharmaceutical research and development company. The event brought together a wide range of international and national speakers, along with consultants, physicians, researchers, and neurology experts from the Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Russia. Several international, regional, and local medical associations also participated.
The conference featured scientific lectures focused on recent research and treatment approaches for neurological conditions including Parkinson’s disease, migraine, and post-stroke spasticity.
Dr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Bilali, Headache Specialist and Head of the Saudi Headache Chapter at the Saudi Neurology Society, acknowledged the consistent efforts of the organizers and the success of the conference over the past five years. He noted that scientific research remains fundamental to progress in neurology and highlighted the growing impact of headache disorders on daily life. Dr. Abdulrazzaq pointed out recent advancements in diagnosis and management and emphasized the role of innovation and evidence-based practices in improving patient care.
Dr. Suhail Al Rukun, Consultant Neurologist and President of the Emirates Neurology Society, highlighted the strong participation at the conference, which featured medical discussions, workshops, and reviews of the latest clinical trial recommendations. He noted that the annual gathering continues to support the exchange of knowledge and the adoption of current practices in the treatment of neurological disorders. According to Dr. Suhail, events like this help advance medical understanding and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
Mohammad Aboubakr, Vice President and General Manager of AbbVie for the Middle East, Africa, and Russia, spoke about the company’s support for the summit.
