Flooff.me, Event Chic Ballroom Host Rescue Runway Dog Adoption Show in Al Quoz

Organisers indicated that a second edition of the rescue runway adoption show is under consideration and may take place as early as April.

Dubai hosted its first rescue runway dog adoption show on March 29, marking a new initiative aimed at promoting pet adoption and supporting animal welfare organisations in the UAE.

The event was organised by Flooff.me in collaboration with Event Chic Ballroom.

Held at Event Chic Ballroom, the event welcomed approximately 500 attendees. The programme began with a meet-and-greet session, allowing visitors to interact with the dogs before the runway segment commenced at 4 PM.

The venue was arranged in a runway-style format, with seating on both sides. Around 40 rescue dogs participated in the show, walking down the ramp in front of attendees. The dogs represented a range of breeds, including Pomeranians and Huskies, highlighting the diversity of animals available for adoption.

Several animal rescue organisations took part, including RAK Animal Welfare Centre, Green Paws, Stray Dog Centre, and House of Hounds.

One of the highlights of the event included a rescue dog using a wheelchair, drawing attention to the needs and resilience of differently-abled animals.

Following the event, several dogs entered trial adoption arrangements, a short-term placement process designed to assess compatibility between the animal and prospective adopters.
