Djamel Mohand, Co-Founder of Governata, has been appointed President of La French Tech Riyadh.
La French Tech is a French government-backed initiative that supports startup ecosystems and innovation-driven entrepreneurship globally. The launch of its Riyadh chapter reflects growing collaboration opportunities between French and Saudi technology communities.
As President of La French Tech Riyadh, Mohand will support cooperation between French and Saudi technology ecosystems, encourage entrepreneurship, and help strengthen partnerships across AI, data, cloud, and enterprise technologies.
Commenting on the appointment, Djamel Mohand said: “Saudi Arabia is undergoing one of the most important technology transformations globally. Through La French Tech Riyadh, we aim to strengthen collaboration, support entrepreneurs, and help create an environment where regional technology companies can scale with greater trust, credibility, and global ambition.”
Julie Huguet, Global Director of La French Tech, added: “Saudi Arabia is a key hub for innovation. Djamel’s leadership of La French Tech Riyadh will strengthen ties between our startup ecosystems and create opportunities for entrepreneurs in both regions.”
The appointment also reinforces Governata’s position within the region’s AI and data sector as the company continues supporting AI-ready and sovereign data infrastructure initiatives in Saudi Arabia.
