In addition to shopping, the Souq includes live entertainment, workshops, and family-friendly activities, all arranged by Dubai Municipality.

Dubai Municipality has opened the city’s first Ramadan Souq of 2026 at the Grand Souq Deira. Now in its fourth year, the market provides residents and visitors with an opportunity to purchase items in preparation for the holy month.

The market is open daily until Saturday, February 15, and features a variety of products, including home essentials, décor, gifts, food items, and tools to support fasting. Visitors can also find items for Hag Al Laila, the traditional Emirati celebration before Ramadan.

In addition to shopping, the Souq includes live entertainment, workshops, and family-friendly activities, all arranged by Dubai Municipality. Ramadan in 2026 is expected to begin around Thursday, February 19, following the Islamic lunar calendar, with official confirmation to be announced closer to the date.

Asem Al Qassim, Director of Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department at Dubai Municipality, said: “The Ramadan Souq is one of the most significant traditional events celebrating the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan in the emirate. We are committed to promoting the heritage of traditional markets, which are a living testament to Dubai’s history.”

He added: “Organising the souq in the Grand Souq area of Deira, one of Dubai’s oldest markets, affirms its enduring role as a shopping hub for personal and household needs, while also serving as a key tourist attraction that reflects the emirate’s cultural legacy. Our ongoing efforts aim to enhance Dubai’s appeal as a city of exceptional quality of life.”

The Ramadan Souq at Grand Souq Deira is the first of several seasonal markets and events organised by Dubai Municipality that are expected to take place across Dubai in the coming weeks.
