Hilton has announced the appointment of Michael Schmitt as Cluster General Manager, overseeing its three properties on Yas Island: Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, The WB Abu Dhabi, Curio Collection by Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Residences.
Schmitt has more than two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, with leadership roles across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Most recently, he served as General Manager at Conrad Dubai. He has also held positions at Waldorf Astoria Chengdu, Conrad Xiamen, Hilton Dalian, and Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa.
His experience includes hotel openings, repositioning projects, and operational management across different markets. He has also received industry recognition, including an Asia General Manager of the Year award.
In his new role, Schmitt will oversee operations and support the development of Hilton’s Yas Island portfolio, focusing on performance and guest experience across the three properties.

Located on Yas Island, the three properties offer a mix of waterfront, themed, and extended-stay accommodation options for leisure and business travellers.
