Hybridxperience, a media art and entertainment studio, has introduced a new digital installation at Elephant Rock in AlUla. The project combines light, AI, and digital art to offer a new visual experience at one of Saudi Arabia’s most well-known natural landmarks.
Elephant Rock, one of AlUla’s most recognisable natural formations, has recently undergone a new visual transformation. The 52-metre sandstone structure, shaped by natural erosion over millions of years, now features a digital installation developed by Hybridxperience, a media art and entertainment studio.
This project integrates light projections, artificial intelligence, and visual effects to create an evening experience for visitors. Using 3D projection mapping, interactive elements, and AI-generated visuals, the installation presents a visual narrative that reflects both the natural and cultural aspects of the site.
The objective of the project is to enhance how visitors engage with the landmark by introducing a contemporary layer to its historic presence. As daylight fades, the rock displays shifting visuals designed to represent movement, time, and natural textures, offering a new perspective on the formation.
Located in AlUla, Jabal AlFil is a naturally formed sandstone structure known for its elephant-like shape. It has become a point of interest for visitors due to its scale and distinct form, particularly at sunset when the surrounding desert takes on warm hues.
