Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) announced a series of strategic investment partnerships on 1st September with local and international institutions, marking the Group’s 20th anniversary under the patronage of Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism (MHT).
Hashil Obaid al Mahrouqi, CEO of OMRAN Group, highlighted the Group’s focus on expanding partnerships with institutions specializing in tourism investment and urban development. The projects, valued at RO3 billion, include developments at Majlis al Jinn, Ras Al Shajar Cave, Al Hoota Caves, the Four Seasons project in Bandar al Rowdha, Opera District, the second phase of Madinat al Irfan, and an agro-tourism initiative in Salalah featuring coconut and papaya plantations. The Minister of Heritage and Tourism noted that these projects are expected to complement other developments managed by the ministry, supporting growth in the tourism sector. Azzan Qassim al Busaidi, Chairman of OMRAN Group, emphasized continued collaboration with the ministry and government entities to support Oman Vision 2040 and the National Tourism Strategy.
The event included announcements of new integrated tourism projects, including a mixed-use development at Sultan Qaboos Port waterfront with VA Group, three projects under the Yiti Integrated Tourism Development including a Nobu luxury resort with Enevória Development, and Janaen Salalah, Oman’s first integrated agri-tourism project in partnership with Oman Agriculture Development Company. Design models were unveiled for projects such as Madinat Al Irfan, Sultan Qaboos Port Waterfront, the Four Seasons Resort, Opera District, and the Club Med Resort in Musandam. Updates were also shared on Santani Jabal Shams Resort, Alie Nivas Musandam Resort, Wadi Shab, Ras Al Shajar Nature Reserve, Majlis Al Jinn Cave, Al Hoota Cave, and Hayl Al Diyar.
New strategic partnerships were also announced, including stakes in the alternative accommodation platform UnderTheDoormat, digital travel platform Godoba, and a collaboration with Handicrafts House – Dar Al Herfya to establish a crafts and heritage center in Muttrah. These initiatives aim to diversify Oman’s tourism offerings, enhance visitor experiences, and strengthen the country’s position as a destination for nature, culture, and leisure.
