The 6th Edition of the Qatar Balloon Festival was held from 11 to 20 December 2025 at Al Bidda Park in Doha. The event was organised by Safe Flight Solutions in collaboration with Visit Qatar and Al Bidda Park. It ran alongside the Lantern Festival at the same venue.
During the festival’s 10‑day schedule, visitors gathered to watch daily morning balloon displays and to take part in a range of activities. More than 40 balloons from several countries participated, with balloon take‑offs occurring at sunrise and tethered balloon flights offered in the afternoon and evening.
Daily Balloon Ascents & Aerial Displays: Each morning, a colourful flotilla of balloons filled the horizon, delighting spectators and ballooning enthusiasts alike. Displays attracted both local attendees and international visitors.
Illuminated Night Shows: As daylight faded, tethered balloon displays and illuminated features transformed festival grounds into an enchanting vista of light and colour, paired with live music and performances.
Engaging Family and Cultural Activities: In addition to balloon spectacles, the festival offered interactive arts and crafts, hands‑on workshops, games zones, merchandise vendors, and a variety of culinary delights, making it a favorite family destination throughout its ten‑day run.
Photo & Video Contest: Participants were encouraged to capture and share their festival experiences in a spirited online contest that showcased creative perspectives from around the site.
Organisers noted that the festival attracted a large number of attendees over its duration and provided an opportunity for both residents and visitors to experience hot air balloon activities and related attractions in Doha’s winter season
