Riyadh has announced plans for Rise Tower, an architectural project expected to reach nearly two kilometres in height, positioning it to become the tallest building in the world and surpass Dubai’s Burj Khalifa (828 metres).
Rise Tower will be a central feature of the North Pole project, a 306-square-kilometre mixed-use development backed by the Public Investment Fund. The masterplan includes residential areas, commercial districts, and hospitality offerings, supported by advanced transport infrastructure such as air taxis, self-driving vehicles, and a high-speed underground metro.
Designed with sustainability in focus, the project will incorporate walkable streets, dedicated cycling lanes, and efficient public transport systems to minimise carbon emissions.
The skyscraper will host luxury hotels, fine-dining restaurants, premium office spaces, and observation decks offering views beyond the horizon. Its location near King Khalid International Airport will make it a prominent landmark for visitors, especially in the lead-up to Expo 2030.
Rise Tower represents a significant step in Riyadh’s urban development vision, combining record-breaking design with integrated community living and sustainable practices.
