Saudi Arabia and India Finalise Hajj 2026 Pact with 1.75 Lakh Pilgrim Quota

The arrangement reflects both nations’ commitment to ensuring a safe, organised, and accessible pilgrimage experience for Indian citizens.

India and Saudi Arabia have officially signed the Hajj 2026 agreement, confirming a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India for the annual pilgrimage. The agreement was signed in Jeddah by India’s Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.

The agreement underscores the continued collaboration between both countries to ensure a smooth and well-organised Hajj experience for Indian pilgrims. It focuses on key aspects such as transportation, accommodation, healthcare, and logistics, with the aim of improving accessibility and comfort during the pilgrimage.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia from November 7 to 9, 2025, Minister Rijiju also reviewed Hajj-related facilities in Jeddah and Taif, including Terminal 1 and the Haramain Station, to assess infrastructure and service readiness. He held meetings with officials from the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah, acknowledging their coordination with Saudi authorities to support pilgrims effectively.

The signing of the Hajj 2026 agreement reflects the long-standing and cooperative relationship between India and Saudi Arabia, built on mutual respect and shared commitment to facilitating the pilgrimage in a safe and efficient manner.

This year’s arrangements are designed to ensure that the 1.75 lakh Indian pilgrims undertaking Hajj in 2026 can do so with proper care, coordination, and support from both governments.
