Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters 2025 to debut in Riyadh with 144 players and £2 million prize pool

The event will follow a World Championship-style knockout format, beginning with 128 tour players and 16 wildcards.

The first-ever Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters is set to take place from August 30 to September 7 at Green Halls, Riyadh. Organised by the Saudi Arabian Billiards & Snooker Federation, the tournament will bring together 144 players and offer a prize pool of £2 million, marking a significant moment for professional snooker in the region.

The event will follow a World Championship-style knockout format, beginning with 128 tour players and 16 wildcards. Over the course of five rounds, the competition will narrow down to the final 32 by September 3. The final match, scheduled for September 7, will be played as a best-of-19 frame contest.

Some of the sport’s most well-known names will participate, including current World No.1 Judd Trump, six-time World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, reigning World Champion Kyren Wilson, and experienced players such as Mark Selby, John Higgins and Zhao Xintong. Other established professionals including Neil Robertson, Mark Allen, Shaun Murphy and Barry Hawkins will also be part of the draw.

Sixteen wildcard players selected by the Saudi Arabian Billiards & Snooker Federation will take part, offering an opportunity for local and regional talent to compete at a global level.

This edition also includes participation from top women snooker players, including Reanne Evans, Mink Nutcharut, Bai Yulu, and Baipat Siripaporn. Their inclusion reflects a broader effort to support women’s involvement in professional sport, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
