Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector recorded 45.7 million visitors during the first half of 2026, according to the General Entertainment Authority (GEA). The authority also reported a visitor satisfaction rate of 96 percent, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen regulation, improve service quality, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
During the first six months of the year, the GEA issued more than 2,500 licenses for entertainment and related activities. It also conducted over 8,500 inspection visits across the Kingdom to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining safety standards, operational efficiency, and service quality.
The authority worked with 29 government entities to streamline procedures related to the entertainment sector and improve the investor journey. It also issued 1,127 classification certificates for entertainment activities under unified standards aimed at maintaining consistent service quality.
The sector continued to expand during the period, with the number of operating entertainment companies exceeding 7,200. More than 400 investors were provided access to visitor experience measurement tools, while over 900 reports were prepared to evaluate visitor satisfaction and monitor performance indicators to support the ongoing development of entertainment activities and events.
As part of its efforts to improve visitor experience, the GEA addressed 586 complaints during the second quarter of 2026 through dedicated follow-up mechanisms focused on service quality and user engagement.
Majed Al-Gharabi, Head of the Regulatory Affairs Sector at the GEA, said the results reflect the authority’s efforts to develop a comprehensive regulatory framework covering legislation, oversight, performance measurement, and investor support. He noted that these initiatives have contributed to the growth of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector while supporting its contribution to the national economy and quality of life.
Al-Gharabi added that the GEA will continue to strengthen the regulatory environment to encourage investment and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 under the guidance of the Saudi leadership and the oversight of GEA Chairman Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh.
