The 12th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) will be held on September 11, 2025, during the upcoming International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the SGCA is a prominent regional platform that recognises excellence and innovation in the field of government and public communication. The award ceremony forms a core part of the IGCF programme, bringing together leaders, institutions, and professionals committed to advancing the role of communication in public service, governance, and social impact.
Held annually, the SGCA event honours individuals, institutions, and collaborative initiatives that have demonstrated measurable success in using strategic communication to engage audiences, address challenges, and strengthen public trust. The awards span five main sectors and 23 categories, covering areas such as crisis communication, digital innovation, soft power, youth engagement, internal communication, and more.
The event serves as both a celebration of accomplishments and a learning platform, drawing participation from high-level government officials, media professionals, researchers, academics, private sector representatives, and communication specialists from across the Arab world and beyond.
The SGCA is held in conjunction with the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), scheduled for September 10–11, 2025, under the theme of strengthening global dialogue and improving the relationship between governments and the public. Over two days, the IGCF will host panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions focused on the evolving dynamics of government communication, digital engagement, public policy, and media.
