The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) 2025 returns to the Expo Centre Sharjah from November 5 to 16, reaffirming its place as one of the region’s leading literary and cultural events. Organised by the Sharjah Book Authority, the fair continues to celebrate literature, learning, and creativity through a diverse line-up of author talks, workshops, performances, and exhibitions.
This year, the fair will host Hollywood actor and author Will Smith as a special guest speaker. Smith will appear on the main stage on Friday, November 14, at 8pm, where he will speak about storytelling and discovering one’s own path.
Most known for his successful career in film and music, Will Smith is also an accomplished writer. He is the author of Will—his bestselling memoir co-written with Mark Manson—and Just the Two of Us, a children’s book celebrating the bond between fathers and their children.
Commenting on the announcement, Khoula Al Mujaini, General Coordinator of SIBF, said, “Welcoming a global creative icon like Will Smith reflects SIBF’s vision of celebrating art and creativity. His remarkable journey spans cinema, acting, music, singing, and creative writing, embodying our mission to honour all forms of artistic expression that inspire imagination, raise awareness, and open new pathways to knowledge.”
A regular visitor to the UAE, Will Smith has often expressed his fondness for the region. He was among the first to experience Deep Dive Dubai when it opened in 2021 and shares a close connection with HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Beyond Smith’s session, the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 will feature a wide range of activities for readers and families. Visitors can meet renowned authors, attend book signings, and participate in workshops and conferences. The children’s section will offer stage shows, creative workshops, and interactive learning experiences, while the Cooking Corner will feature chefs and food writers from around the world presenting live culinary demonstrations.
