Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, is preparing to host its New Year’s Eve celebrations as part of the ongoing Sheikh Zayed Festival. The higher organising committee is finalising arrangements for a large-scale programme featuring fireworks, drones, and cultural performances.
This year’s event will include an extensive fireworks display designed to attempt five new Guinness World Records. The display will run in five timed segments beginning at 8 PM, with the main section scheduled to start at midnight and continue for 62 minutes.
In addition to the fireworks, the programme will include a drone show featuring 6,500 drones in a single 20-minute flight. The drones will create nine large-scale formations that will be presented for the first time globally. The formations will be integrated with the countdown and the fireworks to create a unified visual sequence across the festival grounds.
Visitors can also expect cultural performances throughout the evening. The festival arena will host Emirati acts with hundreds of performers, along with international troupes participating from various country pavilions, sponsors, and partners.
The Sheikh Zayed Festival continues to highlight cultural diversity and community engagement, and the New Year’s Eve programme is expected to draw significant attendance.
