Sohar International to Host Second Edition of Layali Al Mouj Ramadan Souq

Sohar International will host a dedicated pavilion to engage with visitors and entrepreneurs, provide advisory guidance and present banking solutions tailored to SMEs at different stages of growth.

In the spirit of Ramadan and in support of local enterprise, Sohar International will host the second edition of “Sohar International Souq – Layali Al Mouj” from Thursday, 5 March to Saturday, 7 March 2026 at Al Mouj Marina. Running daily from 7pm to midnight, the three-night Ramadan souq offers families and visitors an opportunity to gather after Iftar to explore local brands and community-led concepts in a relaxed waterfront setting.

The Souq will be officially inaugurated by H.E. Halima bint Rashid Al Zarriyah, Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), reflecting the initiative’s alignment with national economic diversification priorities. This year’s edition will feature around 150 participants, including 100 SMEs across sectors such as food, fashion, lifestyle and creative industries, as well as 50 young entrepreneurs participating through a dedicated Children’s Corner.

Abdulwahid Mohamed Al Murshidi, Chief Executive Officer of Sohar International, said small and medium enterprises play a central role in building a diversified and resilient economy. He noted that the Souq reflects the Bank’s approach of going beyond financing to facilitate structured market access for Omani businesses, supporting broader national objectives under Vision 2040.

Set along the marina waterfront, “Layali Al Mouj” will present a curated mix of local entrepreneurs, artisanal brands and homegrown concepts, offering handcrafted products, specialty foods and seasonal items suited for Ramadan and Eid. The evening programme will also include a Qaranqasho celebration on the opening night, featuring interactive activities aimed at engaging families and children.

During the event, Sohar International will host a dedicated pavilion to engage with visitors and entrepreneurs, provide advisory guidance and present banking solutions tailored to SMEs at different stages of growth. Guests registering at the Bank’s stall will be eligible to enter prize draws.

Through the Sohar International Souq – Layali Al Mouj, the Bank continues to integrate commercial enablement with broader ecosystem development, supporting SMEs while encouraging early-stage entrepreneurship and financial literacy among youth as part of its CSR framework.
