Hilton is set to significantly expand its presence in Oman with the addition of three new properties in Barr Al Jissah: Waldorf Astoria Muscat Al Husn, Hilton Muscat Al Bandar, and DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha. This expansion supports the country’s tourism strategy, which aims to attract 12 million visitors annually by 2040 through enhanced infrastructure, improved attractions, and visa reforms.
The Waldorf Astoria Muscat Al Husn has undergone a comprehensive renovation and will feature 180 rooms and suites, five dining venues, the signature Peacock Alley, and a Waldorf Astoria Spa. The property blends Omani heritage with Waldorf Astoria’s global standards, offering guests a refined and culturally resonant hospitality experience.
Hilton Muscat Al Bandar and DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha will provide a range of offerings to meet diverse traveller needs, including spa treatments inspired by local ingredients such as the Omani Rose and Luban (frankincense), and dining experiences featuring locally sourced produce. Together, the three properties complement Hilton’s existing Oman portfolio, which includes Hilton Garden Inn Muscat Al Khuwair, Hilton Salalah Resort, and DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Qurum.
Sustainability remains a key focus across the new hotels, in line with Hilton’s Travel with Purpose strategy. The properties will leverage Hilton’s LightStay platform to efficiently manage energy, water, and waste, while continuing initiatives such as partnerships with the Oman Food Bank and energy efficiency programmes.
The expansion also reflects Hilton’s commitment to developing local talent and promoting inclusivity, providing leadership programmes, mentorship initiatives, and career development opportunities, particularly for women, across the new hotels.
Located where mountains meet turquoise waters, Barr Al Jissah offers guests access to Oman’s natural and cultural attractions, from Wadi Shab and the Dimaniyat Islands to Muttrah Souq and Bait Al Zubair Museum. The three new properties aim to enhance Oman’s tourism offerings, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the national strategy of positioning Oman as a premier travel destination.
