Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is set to reveal further details about its upcoming Harry Potter-themed expansion on Monday, September 7.
The announcement will provide more information on the three planned lands — Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Forest — which will form part of the Harry Potter experience at the Yas Island theme park.
The reveal was announced through a teaser shared on the official Harry Potter Instagram account as part of the brand’s Back to Hogwarts Showcase. The countdown indicates that the announcement will take place at 12pm UAE time on September 7.
The Harry Potter land was first announced by Miral in 2022 as an expansion of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. The development is planned to feature attractions, rides and themed experiences based on the Harry Potter universe.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi also introduced its first Harry Potter experience earlier this year. According to Forbes, the former Treasures of Hollywood Store near the park’s central plaza was converted into a Harry Potter-themed retail space, offering merchandise including wands, spell books, T-shirts, scarves and house jerseys.
Construction on the approximately 40,000-square-metre expansion began in 2025, according to MEED. An official opening date has not yet been announced. The National reported in August that the project is expected to open in 2029, citing consultancy firm Entertainment + Culture Advisors, which is involved in the project.
Further details about the three lands and their planned attractions are expected to be announced during Monday’s reveal.
