What The Food by Alserkal will take place at Alserkal Avenue on October 25-26, bringing together chefs, artists, and cultural voices to discuss developments in food. The theme for this edition is “Disrupting the Table,” focusing on the systems, values, and stories behind what we eat.
The festival will feature a keynote by Asma Khan, London-based chef and author, on creating kitchens that emphasize community, equity, and local produce. Other participants include Douglas McMaster of the zero-waste restaurant Silo, Tala Bashmi, Fatmata Binta, and Nadir Nahdi, who will moderate panels on heritage, sustainability, and climate-resilient crops.
In addition to talks, the festival will include installations, exhibitions, film screenings, tastings, and workshops, allowing attendees to explore food from multiple perspectives.
Curated by Cláudia de Brito, the festival brings together chefs, restaurateurs, and food innovators to discuss sustainability, heritage, and community through food.
